Tue 18 Jul 2006: Together with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), the KDD Lab has been awarded a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Institute for Discrete Sciences (IDS) grant. UIUC is the lead University Affiliate Center (UAC) for a consortium that includes Kansas State University and the University of Texas - San Antonio (UTSA).
01 Sep 2001: CIS 830, Advanced Topics in Artificial Intelligence, is being offered in Spring, 2002. Note that this shall not be cross-listed as CIS 864 (Data Engineering) as in previous years. (MSE students wishing to take an intelligent systems course to satisfy the 800-level course requirement must enroll in CIS830.) This is a course on knowledge discovery in databases and intelligent systems. The prerequisite of CIS 730 (Introduction to Artificial Intelligence) shall be enforced.
18 Oct 2000: CIS 830, Advanced Topics in Artificial Intelligence, is being offered in Spring, 2001. Note that this is cross-listed as CIS 864, Data Engineering (MSE students should register for this instead of CIS864). This is a course on knowledge discovery in databases and intelligent systems.
29 Aug 2000: The Fall, 2000 group meeting time for the KDD group is 1:00 - 2:00pm on Wednesdays (in the CIS department conference room).
18 Aug 2000: CIS 890, Advanced Topics in Intelligent Systems, is being offered in Fall, 2000.
12 Aug 2000: The Summer, 2000 group meeting time for the KDD group is 1:00 - 2:00pm on Fridays (in the CIS department library).
28 Mar 2000: Silicon Graphics, Incorporated (SGI) will be holding a seminar on high-performance Linux clusters and software technologies for any faculty, staff, and students who are interested. The 2 presentations will be held from 10:30am - 11:30am on Friday, March 31, 2000, in Room 206 of the K-State Union. All KDD Group students should attend.
