I think that's a good idea, Laura - please notify admin@ringil.cis.ksu.edu when you do it (or just mention it to John Frear if he's around).
John, please announce upgrades to the listserve (kdd-l) by version. If a Linux version gets upgraded on a Core system, please put it in the MOTD.
