The Soft Computing Laboratory (SCL) at Kansas State University focuses on research, education, and dissemination of knowledge related to evidential reasoning under uncertainty, and models of automated adaptation such as neural networks and evolutionary computation, for applications in decision support, manufacturing system design, quality engineering, and intelligent control.

The Soft Computing Laboratory (SCL) is affiliated with the Laboratory for Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) in the Department of Computing and Information Sciences and with the KSU Visualization Laboratory.
