: : I guess BN in "XBN" is Bayesian Networks, but what's the X?
: : Also what's the J in MLJ? (I believe ML here is machine learning)
Java
: : How about K2? Knowledge Tool?
If I recall correctly, K2 is named after Kutato, the developer of a Bayesian network structure learning algorithm based on the Dirichlet score. The number 2 probably refers to the second variant (but sometimes, numbering is strange, witnessed by "ID3", "C4.5", "C5.0", and the AQs).
: : Also this is a test. Thanks a lot.
: ok, now I guess XBN is Bayesian Networks for X? or a graphic
: BN design tool?
X === XML, eXtensible Markup Language; the XML documentation page at the WWW Consortium site has URL http://www.w3.org/XML/. Now, if you think ONE level of nesting in acronyms is obfuscated, you should see the acronym databases at the Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL)! The URL is http://call.army.mil/call/homepage/thesaur5.htm.
: MLJ is ML Java, just like MLC....
: But what's K2?
: Thanks for steveg's hint
